What Is Oxytetracycline?

Oxytetracycline is an antibacterial drug with prolonged action. Levels in the blood are preserved for at least 4 days, with maximum blood levels up to 4-8 hours after administration, and is effective in the treatment of a wide range of infections. Oxytetracycline has been shown to be effective against the following bacterial infections: Bordetella, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus, Haemophilus, Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella Dublin, Staphylococcus aureus, etc.
Suitable for the treatment of cattle, sheep and pigs. Rhinitis caused by Bordetella, Pasteurella haemophilus and Pasteurella multocida, umbilical infection caused by Corynebacterium, Staphylococcus and Staphylococcus aureus; Mastitis caused by Corynebacterium, Staphylococcus; Diseases caused by Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus; Pasteurella haemophilus and Pasteurella multocida and respiratory tract infections. Septicemia caused by Salmonella and Streptococcus; dermatophytosis caused by Daniostoma filiformis and may also be used for the treatment of pneumonia in sheep.
Recommended dosage 20mg/kg body weight (1ml per 10kg body weight) deep intramuscular injection for cattle, sheep and pigs, product is recommended for single use.
Recommended health care dosage.
Sows: 10ml of oxytetracycline injection is given intramuscularly to sows within 8 hours after parturition, which can effectively prevent postpartum mastitis, uterine inflammation and anoestrus in sows.
Piglets: Inject 0.5ml of oxytetracycline injection at 3 days, 7 days and 21 days after birth, which can effectively help piglets resist various bacterial diseases before weaning, promote weight gain and improve neatness of weaning.

Not for animal consumption for slaughter 28 days for cattle, 14 days for pigs and 21 days for sheep.
Not for use in milk-producing animals for human consumption.

It belongs to the tetracycline group etc. It may cause impaired development of teeth and bone and may also cause delayed pregnancy, skin discolouration etc.
In case of severe reactions to treatment, administer in divided doses and wash hands after use.
In case of accidental contact with eyes and on skin, rinse immediately with water.
Avoid light above 25°C, out of reach of children, use within the dosage range for the first time and use up within 28 days.
